SwanCape Ltd. & HortiNigeria: Empowering a Sustainable and Inclusive Future
At SwanCape Ltd., we are honored to serve as a Business Champion within the HortiNigeria project—a groundbreaking initiative funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) and implemented by the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) and its consortium partners.
Our mission aligns with HortiNigeria’s goal operating on the principles of inclusivity, empowerment, and sustainability. Through various components, including increased productivity, innovation, risk reduction, access to finance, and market linkages, we aim to create an enabling environment for the growth of youth and women-led SMEs, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in both on-farm and off-farm activities thereby contributing significantly to food and nutrition security in Nigeria.
Introducing the AgroNourish2Flourish Hub: A Platform for Growth and Empowerment
As part of our commitment to empowerment, inclusivity, and sustainability, we have established the AgroNourish2Flourish Hub in Epe, Lagos State. This hub is a collaborative platform designed to strengthen the horticulture value chain by bringing together farmers, SMEs, women and youth-led agribusinesses, input suppliers, financial institutions, and technical service providers.
Through this hub, we aim to create an enabling environment where women, youth, and all value chain actors can access knowledge, resources, and opportunities that will drive productivity, improve income, and build resilient agribusinesses.
Our Objectives: Strengthening the Horticulture Sector Together
The AgroNourish2Flourish Hub is built on six key objectives, all designed to empower smallholder farmers, especially women and youth, and enhance sustainability across the horticulture sector:
- Piloting Eco-Efficient Production Systems
We introduce innovative and sustainable farming practices that increase productivity and incomes of entrepreneurial farmers, with a strong focus on women and youth.
- Capacity Building & Skills Development
Through the Innovation and Business Support Services (IBSS) and other expert providers, we offer training on technical, business, and organizational skills to empower smallholder farmers and agripreneurs.
- Strengthening Value Chain Linkages
We connect farmers, SMEs, off-takers, processors, financial institutions, and logistics providers to foster trust, improve coordination, and enhance profitability for all actors.
- Creating an Enabling Business Environment
We promote fair pricing, transparent transactions, and access to financial resources, including low-interest credit facilities, ensuring stability and sustainability in the sector.
- Promoting Innovation & Co-Financing of Solutions
We facilitate joint learning, co-investments, and access to technology that supports the growth of SMEs and women-led agribusinesses.
- Enhancing Market Access & Job Creation
By strengthening value chain coordination, we increase access to quality produce and create employment opportunities, particularly for youth and women in agriculture.
